Welcome to the rice nation.
How did "rice nation" happen?
Our Rice Journey
From 0 to 100,000+ followers in less than 20 days.
What a ride it's been, from lifting a mere 1 gram of rice (that's 15 grains, folks!) to now proudly lifting donating 340kgs of rice - with more to come. I couldn't have pulled off this rice-olution without the incredible support from everyone. Sharing my journey with a sprinkle of milestones – here's to the rice, the journey, and the incredible teamwork! 🌾🙌
Day 1
From Day 1 we began our rice lifting journey. I started with 1 follower - thanks mum! Which equated to 1 gram of rice (15.4 grains). I still recall now, I was sitting down on the couch, when I got this sudden urge to get up and start this challenge. For some strange reason, I gravitated to rice. This was my small beginning, who knew it was to be the start of something great.
Day 2 - Day 9
So, from Days 2 to 9, I decided to mix things up a bit and try out different items that I found around the house for my workouts. I mean, I love my rice, but thought I might try something new? So, I experimented with some household objects to keep things fresh. But you know what's funny? It wasn't until I got back to lifting rice that everyone really got hyped up. The people wanted rice!
Day 10
Day 10, was when everything changed! A fellow rice gram commented, to strictly only lift rice, and keep lifting rice until I can't lift any more. From then, I was inspired by the idea to to do something good by giving back and donating the rice. This specific comment unbelievably got over 90,000 likes and the video almost 10 million total views! This is when the 'real' rice journey began.
Day 11 - Day 16
From Day 11 onwards, the likes, comments, followers and shares flooded in from fellow rice lovers across all over the world. I couldn't believe the pace of the followers growth. We went from 101 followers on Day 10, to 3031 by Day 12. Then all of a sudden over 42,000 by Day 14! The followers continued to increase every minutes, while I was frantically trying to keep up with increasing the rice bench weight. By Day 15 we hit 55,000 followers and then Day 16 an eye-watering 80,000. I was ecstatic, but also feeling the pressure exponential growth in followers and in rice bag weight!
Day 17 - 100k+ Followers
In less than 20 days we achieved over 100,000 followers from this rice bench pressing journey. I couldn't lift all the rice bags on my own anymore, so I decided to shift the focus from purely benching the rice, to partnering up with fellow rice lovers to help me with the lift. after which we would then donate all the rice that we lifted to the local charity. To help #RiceAwareness and support a good cause like ending hunger.
